Description
Malik Medical Centre, established in 1995, was founded by Professor Malik Hussain Mubbashar, a pioneer of psychiatry in Pakistan. He developed community mental health services, psychiatric research, and policies that became a global model for low-income countries.
As Principal of Rawalpindi Medical College and Vice-Chancellor of the University of Health Sciences, Lahore, he transformed psychiatric education, introduced behavioural sciences in medical studies, and guided the Mental Health Ordinance 2001.
